2023's Best Wedding Dates
When you hear the phrase “Vegas Wedding”, you may picture an Elvis impersonator performing a ceremony for a couple that met that very day. Parents/relatives are not invited, the bride and groom may or may not be sober, and the whole thing is finished in ten minutes or less. However, the beauty of Las Vegas is that there is literally something for everyone. So, if you’re looking for something a little more sophisticated, consider Las Vegas as you search for potential venue options. With locations like Stallion Mountain, Vegas weddings can be some of the most beautiful in the world.
Picking a wedding date sounds like the easiest part of getting married. After all, how hard could it be to find a day that works for everyone? Does “everyone” must include the couple, their friends and families, as well as the venue, the photographer, the caterer, and the list goes on. Plus, in this Instagram era, cutesy, “hashtagable” wedding dates seem to get bonus points.

of wedding planning is building a recreation of

We spent hours upon hours making & painting walls,
windows, & decorations for 10 shops.”
Although Allie and Allistar had to reschedule their wedding due to the pandemic, they remained extremely positive throughout the entire process. Allie’s advice would be to simply go with the flow. We love seeing how our venues transform each time they host an event, adapting to take on the style, story and character of the theme of the event. In the story of Jamie and Cody's wedding day, they brought a unique sense of light, joy and romance to the space that we absolutely adore. The color palette was communicated almost exclusively through florals: white and light pink roses, light greenery, and blue-green succulents–and it couldn't have been more magical. Join us as we commemorate this absolutely splendid wedding at the gorgeous The Carlsbad Windmill in North County, San Diego.

Planning a wedding is simple: You celebrate your engagement & begin shopping for wedding venues! But, this year, everything feels a little more complicated. To make it easy again, here are answers to all the questions we hear most regularly. Our vow to you, We’ll make planning your wedding feel exciting and romantic!
Yes! We offer in-person tours where you and your fiancé will meet one of our wedding experts and explore the venue. If you can’t travel, we can also provide a virtual tour via video link.
Yes! It’s possible and a great idea. We’ve been hosting safe and spectacular since May after a pause in March and April 2020. We give joy and safety equal prominence so that guests feel confident and can enjoy celebrating with the newly married couple.
We do all we can to make our venues feel safe and look beautiful so you can relax. Here’s an overview of the actions we take:
The short answer is that not much appears different for guests. Tables are spaced a little further apart but the room still looks inviting, our team wears inconspicuous masks, food is protected with display screens, and we recommend a seating plan for the ceremony as well as your formal dinner. Activity by our team to sanitize and safeguard is continuous but behind the scenes. We’ve been implementing these procedures at spectacular events all summer and they’re now second nature.
As social gathering restrictions ease, we would love to help you get married. If you want to get married soon, we can find you a venue, show you how to get a license, introduce you to excellent vendors, and make it happen.
As you would expect, 2021 dates have filled up fast, but we still have limited availability this year and next. Alternatively, you can book now for far in the future if you want to lock in a date.
We can help you plan and host a wedding in just ten days, but most people take between one and eighteen months.
Wearing a face covering is optional. A wedding is a private event where you have full control over who attends, so wearing a mask is up to the individual although we recommend masks to help slow the spread.
This may change in the future, so please check with your local county guidelines.
As the newly married couple, we fully expect a first dance! All our venues have large dance floors and your guests can choose to join the floor or boogie in their seats. To paraphrase the famous song: you can dance if you want to!
Yes! Everyone needs something to look forward to, and a forthcoming marriage is the ultimate good news. While the pandemic is serious, we should embrace love and find reasons to celebrate! Send your engagement announcements, save the date cards, and invitations. You’ll be making your friends and family smile.
We hear from many guests who traveled for weddings this summer that airports are becoming busier again as people realize they can fly safely. In addition, many couples choose to add a live-streaming service to their ceremony for guests who are happy to celebrate virtually. Of course, if significant guests cannot travel then you may want to look at a date that’s further out.
We’d be delighted to introduce you to our hand-selected wedding vendors. As you can imagine, their work stopped outright for a few months this year. This means they now have more time and can give you unequaled attention to help you achieve the exact wedding vision you want.
Many are open for one-on-one appointments or can help you with a virtual appointment. If you’re at the beginning of your wedding journey, then a virtual consultation can be fun and useful.
Certainly! You can arrange a one-on-one tasting session at most bakeries. Alternatively, some of our favorite cake makers are sending sample kits to clients so you can make a selection from the comfort of your own home.
Local advice varies and so do individual approaches. Be kind and understanding to your guests - after all, they're your best friends and family. Anyone can have circumstances you are not aware of so respect their wishes.
We have a downloadable version of this Q&A which you may wish to email, or print and share with your anticipated guests to make sure you're all on the same page.
We’ve all seen the pandemic response is fast changing. As weddings take an
average on ten months to plan, it’s likely that we’ll return to life as you
knew it way before your big event. Talk to our team today to book a venue tour and start your wedding adventure!

For Savannah and Bryan's Sacramento wedding, the couple was surrounded by an overwhelming amount of love from their family and friends. The couple's joyous nuptials were accented by fun details throughout, including Jenga that doubled as a guest book and a photo booth to capture goofy guest candids. Savannah looked stunning in an all lace gown, which was accented perfectly by our Sterling Hotel's chic vintage aesthetic. Savannah and Bryan even weathered a few drops of lucky rain on their wedding day, ensuring good fortune for the couple for many years to come. It was such a delight to see this loving duo say "I do!" at Sterling Hotel by Wedgewood Weddings.

Today, we're excited to introduce Tara Chatterton, founder of 'Tara Nichole Photo' of Phoenix, Arizona. Tara is a talented wedding, portrait and event photographer and videographer, and a frequent partner of ours at several of our Arizonan wedding venues including Ocotillo Oasis and Lindsay Grove. We love the way Tara focuses on the love story that brings a wedding to life: Her work is heartfelt and professional in every way.
Hi Tara! Thanks for joining us today.
How did you get into this line of work?
Of course! While I'm originally from California, I've lived in Phoenix for most of my life. An "almost native" I like to say. I have been married since 2006 to my high school sweetheart and we have two little girls together. We love downtown Phoenix, AZ and are happy to raise our family here. I actually have a Master’s in Professional Counseling, but decided to stay home and take care of our girls rather than going back to the office. I officially formed my photography business 3 years ago, although I've been passionate about photography and videography since 2012. I love that being a photographer allows me to raise my girls at home and also enjoy an incredibly fulfilling career.
That's wonderful! What do you love most about photography?
I love people and love being able to be a part of the most important and memorable days of their lives. I pride myself on building a lasting relationship with every client and running my business with integrity and love. My favorite aspect of every wedding is getting to know the couple and their friends and family too! My background in counseling is an unusual asset as a photographer, as I'm naturally talented at helping people relax and open up, and that means better photographs! By the end of most weddings, I have become friends with moms and dads, joked with uncles, and figured out who in the group has the biggest anniversary number!

Let's talk about why choosing a one-stop shop for all your wedding needs is a great idea!
Most of us would give the idea of making our wedding dress or suit a hard pass. If you aren't a professional or aspiring dressmaker, hand stitching an outfit you'll be photographed in from every angle seems like a recipe for unnecessary stress. You would need to source the material, learn the techniques, and find time to put it all together... Suddenly what could have felt like a fun project to show off your creativity, now feels like an extra commitment you just don't need.
Ever since you said 'Yes!' and let the engagement blossom, you've probably been thinking about venues, color schemes, cakes, and so much more! It's fun to plan a special celebration, but it's vital to also make time to enjoy the beauty of being engaged. There is something so magical about spending this time with your fiancé anticipating the moment you both say 'I do.'
Happily, we offer you a one-stop wedding shop to help you with all your wedding needs. Our team will bring your vision to life while staying within your ideal budget. You'll be paired with wedding experts who will listen, introduce you to vendors, and ensure the big day is a romantic success.
At Wedgewood Weddings, we have nearly 50 venues that range from rustic to luxe, a team of industry experts with more than 30 years of experience planning over 25,000 weddings. Not to mention, an endless network of reputable vendors that are dedicated and professional! When you book at one of our venues, you save yourself in the long run.
Save yourself on what? - Time! On average, it takes a couple 528 hours to plan their wedding; this comes out to 22 days spent planning details that may ultimately overwhelm you. With Wedgewood Weddings, the average wedding takes less than 99 hours to prepare! Some couples have even designed their entire event in 12 hours. With the time you save on planning at Wedgewood Weddings, there are more opportunities to take advantage of the engaged life.
In addition to saving time, Wedgewood Weddings can help spare you the hassle of booking vendors! You might think that won't be that hard, but think of the complete list of vendors you might need, here are just a few:
At all of our venues, we'll work with you to pair you with handpicked vendors who can meet your needs with ease. We'll also give you exclusive discounts on essentials like tuxedos, limos, and more! In addition, our onsite, wedding coordination team will work at your pace to ensure that your dream vision becomes a reality with no muss, no fuss!
When you ask for help from the experts, we'll swoop in and give you all the assistance you need, all with the aim of making planning fun and straightforward. There are still plenty of opportunities for you to be creative and add your own touches, but you can focus on where you'll excel rather than becoming a pro event planner! There's no need for you to stress as our team will provide clear advice, space to make decisions, and then we'll build your unique celebration for you. When you book with our venues, you pay one, an all-inclusive fee that will cover all of these wedding details!
Your wedding will be tailored to you and your needs. We wholeheartedly believe every couple is different and every wedding should be different too. No two celebrations will ever look exactly alike. Our team is adept at hearing what you know you need and translating. This means you do not need to learn a new vocabulary of event industry jargon to make your requests.
Finally, we will save you and your loved one financially. The average wedding across the nation in 2019 cost $33,139, compared to our' average cost of $13,000. This doesn't mean you get less, just that you're spending your wedding budget more wisely. When you plan your wedding on your own, the expenses individually add up...
Bottom line, when you're ready to start planning your wedding, look no further. We offer customizable, all-inclusive, and affordable weddings that tell your love story loud and proud! Call (855) 252-3803 to book a tour today!

Live streaming lets you share the intimate and memorable moments of your wedding with friends and family who are unable to attend the event in person. Streaming key elements of your wedding is a wonderful way to include anyone who's unavailable to be there. You might have guests living abroad or across state lines, loved ones who are unwell, or guests unable to travel.
While not an integral part of your wedding, live streaming is becoming increasingly popular, so let's run through how to do it well so that your virtual guests aren't left wondering why they can only see the floor!
When searching for a wedding venue, couples start with logical factors such as location, budget, and style. When it comes to choosing "the one" however, it's often more of an emotional decision. You may fall in love with a certain feature or unique element that will help bring your vision to life - a rustic ranch, glimmering pool, or relaxing ocean view. Or, it might be more intangible. Perhaps the people you meet, a feeling when you step into the reception hall, or a unique story about the venue that captures your heart.
New creative ideas are making their way into the wedding industry as a result of the COVID-19 Pandemic. With many state and local jurisdictions continuing to limit large gatherings, and many couples still hoping to move forward with their event as planned, we're ready with a solution that can accommodate both.
If you’ve postponed your wedding due to COVID-19, you may be facing a new conundrum: your dream wedding date is no longer available in 2021. With couples scrambling to reschedule their weddings, many weekends - especially during peak season - were already spoken for long before the coronavirus outbreak. But rather than pushing your wedding back by months or even another year, there is a great alternative that has its own set of perks: a weekday wedding! See why more couples are choosing to host a weekday wedding.

"A lot of people ask 'how can we pick a date for our wedding?' I always say, let's keep it simple! Choose a season which has weather you enjoy, find out if flowers you like are blooming and affordable, and then my team can lock in a good wedding date for you. As your wedding approaches the date will take on significance - you don't need to start out locked to a single date."
Planning - or even rescheduling - a wedding date can be heaps of fun. To simplify the scheduling process, we’ve picked great dates for a 2021 wedding so you can decide what feels good for your needs. From Super Bowl to Mother's Day and 'National Drink Wine Day' - there are tons of great reasons to pick fun dates. We've also looked at when the moon is full, the annual equinox dates and more.
Before you start thinking about dates, definitely take some time to speak with your favorite venue(s). There are lots of romantic and logistical reasons for picking a certain date but, generally, having the right venue for your needs trumps a potential date. Alternatively, be open to booking far in advance or working with your venue's availability if you feel ready to get married right now!
At Wedgewood Weddings, we’re happiest hosting spectacular special events from coast to coast. As part of our national recovery from the COVID-19 tragedy, we must rebuild our spirits. The joy promised by a highly anticipated wedding is beneficial to the couple and their guests alike. Based on all we have heard in the news, while closely monitoring the individual needs of the states and counties where our venues are located, our team has created a detailed blueprint so that everyone can celebrate happily and safely.
A wedding should be the most romantic day of your life! After months of planning and preparation, it's easy to slip into hostess mode rather than center-of-the-party mode. The great news is that with the right team and attitude, your wedding can be blissfully easy and stress-free! This is our specialty, but it's accessible to all. The secret ingredient? It's FUN! Have more fun, while you plan, while you prepare, and throughout your wedding day.
We asked our team for their ideas to turn up the fun level at your event up to max!
Every couple wants their wedding day to be extra special—as you should! We need every ounce of joy that we can wrangle. Lately, couples are going above and beyond to add unique and fun elements to their weddings, to make it the B E S T D A Y E V E R! Here are a couple of ways to make that happen for your special day.
If you’ve ever been involved in the preparation of a wedding, you know things don’t always go 100% to plan. Maybe an unexpected rainfall or snowstorm forced the ceremony to be changed from outdoor to indoor at the last minute. Or the groom showed up an hour late because he forgot his dinner jacket at home. Perhaps the marriage license was left at the hotel, and the maid of honor had to dutifully fetch it during cocktail hour. At Wedgewood Weddings, we’ve seen all these scenarios play out.
Winter: Your secret weapon to a stunning, dramatic, and downright magical wedding. From snow-capped mountains to easier planning, you’ll warm right up to these unique winter wedding advantages. If you're a sucker for Hallmark holiday movies and sipping hot toddies in front of a roaring fire, then you'll fall in love with the perks of having a wintertime wedding. It won’t be long before you’ll find yourself saying ‘I do’ to snow-kissed nuptials. Are you ready to get planning?
First introduced by our friends at The Knot in 2019, Sequel Weddings have recently gained more traction as a creative way to keep wedding plans intact due to COVID-19 related interruptions. A new perspective on your big day could lead to two unforgettable celebrations. If you were planning a mid-2020 celebration, this out-of-the-box idea means that your wedding day becomes a matter of how rather than if!
Pairing the right wine with the right food at your wedding reception can feel like a high-pressure decision. Let's break it down so that you feel confident about your wine selection. Today, I'm going to run through typical features of common varietals and my favorite menu options.
I was about 10 years old when I had my first sip of wine. I was sitting at the dining room table with my parents and a family friend, Bruce. Bruce is one of those people who is larger than life. He’s a big, bald, and irreverent man who loves nothing more than a hearty laugh and a glass of really good wine. Fast forward to when I was 19, Bruce and his wife took me to Paris for a graduation present and what did we do? We ate good food and we drank good wine. After that, I was hooked: I started traveling and collecting fabulous wines.
Choosing to postpone a wedding is never easy. The pandemic is putting many couples in just that situation. This impacts our clients, but also wedding's industry-wide. As a company, we pride ourselves on acting with speed and putting our customers first. Let us share how our approach during the coronavirus tragedy.
With the COVID-19 outbreak also came a sense of sadness. Events were canceled, trips rescheduled, weddings postponed, time with friends permanently delayed. Even something as simple as a work happy hour seems like a thing of the past. For many, it has felt like life has been placed on pause. But in all the chaos, something beautiful has emerged. Communities have banded together, neighbors have stepped up to lend a helping hand, and, despite social distancing, people have found a way to become closer than ever before. In the midst of crisis there are many silver linings.
At Wedgewood Weddings, we’ve built a team - or rather, a family - filled with unconditional romantics. From hand-written vows to swoon-worthy engagement stories, our hearts glow every time we see true love. When the COVID-19 outbreak forced many couples to reschedule their weddings, our hearts began to break for them. Your wedding day is one of the biggest moments of your life - and to have your plans upended without any control is, in a word, devastating.
But with the bad came the beautiful: the news started to fill with stories of love, perseverance, and hope. Couples around the world were still saying ‘I do’ - but in unprecedented, spectacular new ways. In a time of so much uncertainty, there is one thing we are certain of: love always finds a way.
For many people, the bar at their wedding reception is critical. Today, we explain bar terminology and etiquette, while also providing ballpark facts so you can make informed decisions. Many couples allocate at least 20% of their total wedding budget to make sure guests and the wedding party have plenty of their favorite drinks throughout their event.
At Wedgewood Weddings, we’re continually updating our policies and procedures as a result of COVID-19’s devastating impact. Our number one priority is still the same – deliver the wedding you want while maintaining unparalleled customer service.
If your venue is closed due to local jurisdictions or ordinances resulting from the coronavirus crisis, we will notify you immediately and work with you to find a new date to celebrate your big day. We understand that this is a challenging decision to make and we are committed to helping every step of the way. By choosing Wedgewood Weddings, you are already backed by a team of experts. We’re available seven days a week and have 34 years of experience in the business.
Looking for winter wedding inspiration? It’s no secret that summertime is the most popular season for weddings across the United States, but winter weddings are just as spectacular. With many of our couples postponing their special day until later in the year, we thought it would be the perfect time to pull together our favorite winter wedding inspiration. We’re absolutely swooning over these winter wedding photos; they're pure magic.
Matt and Kelly are the type of couple that everyone wants to be. They radiate sunshine and the love they share is visible in everything they do. We're over the moon that they chose Fallbrook Estate by Wedgewood Weddings as the home of their very special wedding day.
Self-isolation with your significant other isn’t exactly the most romantic situation. Chances are you’ve been home for weeks, and sporting the same cozy pair of sweatpants for days on end. In this ‘new normal,’ date night dinners out and tropical vacations aren’t realistic - at least not for a while. But after surviving a pandemic and lockdown with your partner, you may have realized that he or she is truly the one. So if you’re looking to pop the question in the age of social distancing, we’ve pulled together some swoon-worthy coronavirus engagement stories to give you a bit of inspiration.
Fall is the perfect season for planning a wedding - from the cool air to the perfectly timed sunsets, autumn is a bride’s (and wedding planner’s) dream. While fall weather may be ideal for an evening filled with romance, there’s one benefit that absolutely stands out: the colors! If you are planning autumn nuptials, learn how to incorporate seasonal hues into every aspect of your big day.
Social distancing guidelines may have put a damper on some of the in-person aspects of wedding planning, but that doesn’t mean you have to miss out on one of the most fun parts of being engaged. For many couples, cake tasting is one of the highlights of wedding planning - and why wouldn’t it be? Spending an afternoon sampling sweet treats with your future spouse is both pleasing to the palate and an enjoyable way to bond with your partner. If you haven’t selected your cake type yet, learn how to plan an at-home wedding cake tasting that will make social isolation a bit sweeter.
Has your wedding date fallen to the COVID-19 social gathering restrictions? At Wedgewood Weddings, we're working with everyone who had planned a spring and early summer 2020 wedding to find a replacement date. While this is the best option to ensure you can protect your community and keep your wedding plans - we know it's incredibly hard to select a new date.
For many of us, COVID-19 has put a damper on our big plans this spring and, perhaps, summer: from concerts and birthdays to vacations and conferences. While your favorite band will probably tour again, and you’ll be able to re-book that flight, a wedding is a once-in-a-lifetime event that many couples are now forced to reschedule.
