Built in 1931 by the U.S. Army, the Presidio Chapel's Spanish mission revival architecture features arched stained-glass windows, a magnificent fresco, a high ceiling with original redwood beams, wrought-iron chandeliers, and grand oak doors to welcome your guests.

Step into history! The Presidio Chapel is the perfect place for your heartfelt 'I do.' You'll love the photo opportunities at the entrance steps, or out on the tiled garden patio.
 
This whitewashed chapel is a vaulted redwood sanctuary with attractive stained-glass windows, and historic fixtures. Graced with a breathtaking view of San Francisco Bay, the Presidio Chapel at the Presidio is a beautiful and inspiring location for special events. The Mural Room, perfect for an intimate reception, is adjacent to the sanctuary and has a view of the hillside. Outdoors, a memorial garden lined with flowers is the ideal place for taking photos or gathering before a ceremony.
 
The Presidio Chapel is located on the Main Post - the cultural heart of the Presidio - near the Inn at the Presidio, the Golden Gate Club, the Observation Post, the Officers' Club, and The Palm Room.
 
This venue is only available with reservations of the Golden Gate Club.
 
The Presidio Chapel has many unique features that attract history and art fans the world over. Victor Arnautoff's acclaimed fresco was created in 1935 and depicts St Francis of Assisi (the namesake of San Francisco), alongside many historical figures who helped establish the modern fortress on this site. Amusingly, the fresco was created before the famous Golden Gate Bridge and, on the right side of the mural, you can see the Army Corp of Engineers disdainfully discussing the plans.
 
The distinctive stained-glass windows are designed by Willemina Ogterop (1881-1974), the first woman stained-glass artist west of the Mississippi to be inducted into the Stained-Glass Artists Guild. Ogterop was a multiculturalist who was active in many peace and humanitarian organizations and believe that everyone should practice kindness - a principle at the core of many SF marriages. These little-known artistic gems make a visit to the Presidio Chapel a must. If you're engaged or planning an event, you'll want to tour this beautiful example of the Spanish Revival style and glimpse its secrets!
 
Venue tours of the Presidio event venues take around an hour and you'll explore behind the scenes at many of the famous San Francisco fortress sites.

A beautiful example of Mission Revival architecture, the chapel is now an interfaith center that features (among other things) a bridal dressing room, a gorgeous grand piano, and a large outdoor garden--the perfect location to perform our ceremony.

This little chapel is such a gem! The interior is painted white, so it feels very modern and clean. And it's great for photos! The exterior of the building is even more lovely! Plenty of parking for your guests and a nice outdoor patio area for photos as well. It's a lovely place to get married while avoiding the crowded city.

The Presidio Chapel was the perfect venue for our wedding vision. It was simple, yet beautiful...a historic landmark set in a beautiful location atop of a hill in the Presidio Forest. I love the fresh scent and beauty of the surrounding Eucalyptus trees. The chapel and courtyard were the perfect size for a small wedding and cocktail reception. If you are looking for an intimate San Francisco wedding and enjoy the rich history of the Presidio, this is a great venue.

While it seems like it should be simple, wedding pricing can be surprisingly complex. We believe that you should be able to get all your pricing upfront so you can easily find out what everything costs and decide what fits within your budget.

That’s our philosophy, which is why we’ll give you a unique pricing proposal during your personalized venue tour. Our team will provide you with all the details and help you customize your package. This allows us to gain a clear understanding of your wedding wish list and help you clearly see how your wedding can take shape.

If you'd like ballpark pricing now, simply download our PDF to get a general idea of the costs for your wedding. Keep in mind that these figures are approximate since all our packages are fully customizable. You can add or subtract services to tailor your event to your needs. 

Our pricing is based on four areas. First, you decide on your package level and multiply it by the number of guests. Next, you add the ceremony and venue price, which varies depending on the season and day of the week you're considering. Finally, you'll add your admin fee and state tax. As you can see, we include all the big-ticket items like the venue, the décor, and the catering so your wedding budget can work harder.
