All a bridesmaid should know

The roles and responsibilities of bridesmaids vary from one occasion to another, yet the core function remains unchanged. Bridesmaids have a duty to assist and provide assistance to the couple getting married. They should attend the pre-wedding activities such as the bachelorette party and bridal shower, as well as support all the ceremony details and give assistance throughout the reception.

As a bridesmaid, it is your responsibility to provide emotional and physical support to the bride-to-be throughout the entire wedding planning process. From the bachelorette party to the bridal shower and all the way to the reception, your role is to ensure the bride is having a good time and feels cared for and loved.

A bridesmaids presence is requested on the wedding day itself and during the entire wedding planning process. Offer to lend a helping hand and check in with the bride to make sure they're not feeling overwhelmed by all the preparation. Assist in any way you can, from addressing invitations to running errands - it all helps to take some of the weight off the bride's shoulders and show them how much you care.

A critical part of the bridesmaid pre wedding checklist is really small and achievable but essential. Be there for her! Support the bride throughout the entire wedding planning process. Stay in contact, ask them how they're doing and if you can help in any way. It's a wonderful idea to surprise them with something simple like a coffee, or a call to catch up about something not related to the wedding. Every small gesture matters.

The Maid of Honor role is a bit more elaborate, as they serve as the primary go-to person of the couple getting married. They should be deeply involved in the planning process, be responsible for organizing the pre-wedding events, carry the bridal bouquet and, usually, present a speech during the reception. The MoH is the bride-to-be's right hand person, always on call to make sure that her special day is perfect.

The rehearsal walkthrough

During the rehearsal, the wedding party practice the order of the processional and rehearse the entire ceremony. As a bridesmaid, be sure to wear your wedding shoes to this event to gain additional practice in them before walking down the aisle.

Then, it's time to make your way to the rehearsal dinner. Here, the main focus is to simply follow the dress code, pay attention to the speeches, and take in the wonderful meal. A word of caution would be to not stay out too late!

Private moments on the big Day

Be sure to arrive in the getting-ready room early, as hair and makeup alone can take up to ninety minutes. It's also a great idea for bridesmaids to know the timeline and where to be and when. The bride may need help with her outfit, so it's important to be prepared. Bridemaids should remember to pack an emergency kit with essentials such as Band-Aids, a nail file, tissues and Tide-To-Go in case of any unexpected mishaps.
