Whitney & Jonah's Charming Wedding at Tapestry House

Northern Colorado is a favorite for gorgeous summer days and amazing scenic views; for Whitney and Jonah, it's not only the place they call home, but it was also where they said, 'I do.' On the north side of Fort Collins, they discovered their ideal wedding venue at Tapestry House by Wedgewood Weddings: a charming and historic mansion with an intimate garden setting and ample room to celebrate their special day with family and friends.

Finding Tapestry House

When Whitney and Jonah began their search for a wedding venue, they wanted a place that would provide an easy and stress-free planning experience and great Colorado vibes. They discovered Wedgewood Weddings and started their touring process with our mountain-based venue, Mountain View Ranch. Whitney and Jonah loved the location within the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, but after driving to the property, they realized celebrating closer to home was a better fit for them. Next on the list was Tapestry House by Wedgewood Weddings.

The couple discovered that Tapestry House was just 20 minutes from their doorstep. They arrived and received their personalized tour, and Whitney said, "before we even left the venue, we were like, Yeah, let's sign up."  With the surrounding manicured gardens, towering trees, and a large private estate around them, Tapestry House provided the seclusion and space needed to host an intimate celebration with a large group of people.

Planning

From the moment they arrived to tour until the end of the wedding, Whitney and Jonah appreciated the support that the team at Tapestry House by Wedgewood Weddings provided. When Whitney and Jonah got engaged, she was up for a smaller elopement, but Jonah wanted a big wedding, and they found when they worked with Wedgewood Weddings, they got the best of both worlds. They could have the large gathering that Jonah hoped for, and their event experts helped with all the heavy lifting, giving them the time they wanted to enjoy their engagement. When we asked the couple what advice they would give friends planning a wedding, Whitney shared what an all-inclusive experience provided for them:

If you want a low-maintenance planning experience, go ahead and do it with somebody who is all-inclusive. Because to be able to put it in the hands of someone who has done it and somebody whose job it is to plan weddings, takes the pressure off the couple and the family altogether. So if you want a low-maintenance planning experience as a couple, all-inclusive is the way to go.

While our couples don't have to hassle over tables, chairs, or even vendors, they are still involved in the overall planning, letting our team know what vision they have for the day of their event. Colors, décor and more can all be organized and planned for with the help of our event experts. One thing Whitney was particularly thrilled about was our exclusive Wedding Planner. Driving home with their planner, they had all that they needed to get started as it's packed with tailored information gained from decades of event experience.

The Wedding Planner was a game-changer for sure. There were things in there that I would not have even thought to plan for. It definitely helped give us some direction.

Our Wedding Planner is something that all our couples receive and includes all of the essential planning information you'll need for your wedding. From invitations to music preferences for the wedding, we took time to craft the ultimate guide with our wedding experts to help all of our couples take the guesswork out of planning their wedding.

The Ceremony

The day of Whitney and Jonah's wedding was bright and sunny and showed off all that Northern Coloradans love about summer days in this region. With the use of the mansion, Whitney and her bridesmaids got ready on the main floor of Tapestry House while Jonah and his groomsmen got ready on the house's second floor. Along with a dining room, a full functioning kitchen, and multiple bedrooms, the bride and groom had more than enough room for their wedding party to prepare for the ceremony without running into each other before the first look.

Once they were ready, Jonah waited for Whitney in the forested area outside the house. They shared a special moment before regrouping with their wedding party to take photos before the ceremony began.
With a grand entry out of the French double doors of Tapestry House, Whitney made her way down the aisle with her parents on either arm. Their late afternoon ceremony was shaded by the towering trees that stand to the west of Tapestry House, and with a light breeze, they could enjoy the ceremony in front of family and friends.

Draped across the gazebo, Whitney and Jonah chose dark red and white peonies, white roses, and teal accents for their ceremony florals. Whitney's lace and tulle trumpeted gown complimented the elegant and vintage vibes and the dark teal gowns that her bridesmaids wore. Across the aisle, Jonah and his groomsmen sported light grey suits with teal ties.

Cocktail Hour and Reception

After saying their vows, the couple spent time with their wedding party and close family while their other guests had a chance to head toward the pavilion for cocktail hour and appetizers. On the patio outside of the pavilion, guests signed the guest book and also added a signed polaroid of them to a fun and rustic display that Whitney and Jonah included on the entry table.

Once cocktail hour commenced, Whitney, Jonah, and thei
r guests could relax and enjoy a delicious dinner service that included options of Rosemary Garlic Herb Chicken, Five-Cheese Tortellini Pesto Parmesan, as well as a carving station that included a Pit Ham with Pineapple Glaze. Opting for a buffet that includes eight assorted salads as well as delicious sides, the couple was able to cater to all their guests, especially important with so many vegans and vegetarians in attendance.

After dinner and speeches, the couple celebrated with family and friends on the dance floor. Their MC from DJ Maestro at the helm said that the music selection was excellent and that their DJ could "make it a party and keep it a party" throughout the night. Their day of celebration closed out when their guests greeted them outside in front of a stunning finish. Whitney and Jonah made their grand exit through fountain sparklers before heading off after a day of creating life-long memories.
